Childhood Ministry

What Are We All About?

Childhood Ministry is our parish's religious education program for families with children from Kindergarten to 5th grade. The childhood component falls under the umbrella of the Lifelong Christian Formation Department (LCF). In keeping with church teaching, our philosophy of catechesis is that it is holistic, serves the entire family and revolves around the proclamation of the Good News.

We expect parents, as the primary catechists of their children, to be actively involved in their faith formation. We offer Parent Enrichment sessions during children's sessions and we also offer parents the option of participating in the classroom along side their children. Monthly family sessions are provided.

We offer our families time for:

Praise and worship
Prayer
Service to the community
Participation in special liturgical events
Ideas and resources that help form the faith at home
Building Community with other families.

Registration

We will offer registration throughout the Summer for families who would like to participate in our Lifelong Christian Formation sessions (childhood, youth, and adult). Sessions begin the week of September 22.

Volunteering

We need your help!

We have the following Volunteer opportunities available.

Catechists who like to work with children in Kindergarten - 5th grade spreading the good news of God’s love to them.

Nursery Coordinator for Sundays or Monday or Wednesday evenings: Help coordinate nursery volunteers for each Childhood Ministry session.

Parent Catechists: responsible for the faith formation of English or Spanish speaking adults. either Sundays 9-11, Sundays 11-1 (Spanish) and Mondays 6-8pm.
