Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry

St. Louis King of France Catholic Church & School in Austin, Texas seeks a full-time Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry.  This position visions and leads High School, Middle School, and Young Adult ministry activities for youth and young adults.  Employing the USCCB document Renewing the Vision, the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry will develop and lead our High School Sunday evening Young Church sessions, our bi-monthly SPARKS middle school program, and our Young Adult programs. The Director administers all programs and events related to youth and young adults in conjunction with the goals and objectives as determined by the Pastor.  The Director should be experienced in the areas of lay ministry, catechetical education, religious formation, adolescent development, and youth ministry.

 

The Director will partner with our Coordinator of High School Confirmation by strategizing the youth ministry components of the Confirmation program, while the Confirmation Coordinator manages specifically the catechetical component. This is a full-time, salaried position with the expectation of at least three years of professional experience in the youth ministry field.  The position requires at least a Bachelors Degree in Theology, Ministry, or related field.

 

Skills we are looking for in our next Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry include: excellent communication, bilingual in English/Spanish, an understanding of budgets, computer and social media strategies, team building, a strong work ethic, and a desire to form our young Catholics in their relationship with Jesus Christ through the life of the Church. The Director must be a practicing Catholic who is faithful to all that the Church holds to be true.
