Activities & Events

If you have ever wanted to read the Bible, but did not know where or how to begin, or gave up after starting it in frustration or confusion, then A Quick Journey Through The Bible Parish Study is for you.

A Quick Journey Through the Bible makes reading the Bible not only easy, but exciting. In this study, you will learn the major people, places, events and themes of the Bible—getting the “big picture” of salvation history. Perhaps for the first time in your life, you will understand the overview of the Bible story. This then makes your Bible reading and even the Sunday mass readings come alive like never before.

Join us Monday evenings, January 30th-March 19th, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM in Wozniak Hall. Everyone is welcome. Register early to ensure your study materials arrive in time. Deadline to register: January 16th. Study kits are $20 and must be purchased in advance. Contact Amy Allert (email or call 454-0384 x220 to register and for any further questions).

Sung Office of Compline
Sunday Nights at 9:00pm

Compline is the last office of the day in the Liturgy of the Hours. It speaks of resting under the protection of God’s mercy and grace. Compline has its origins in the monastic tradition as the religious men and women would gather in the candle lit church to pray the final psalms of the day and pray for a “peaceful night and a perfect end.” This service of Compline will be sung using the ancient chants and polyphony of the Church. A group of singers interested in the chant tradition of the church is to be formed who will lead this service in the beauty of our chapel. For many this will be the perfect way to end Sunday and pray for the week ahead. It is a time for spiritual contemplation and healing.

We will be seeking those interested in singing and preparing the chapel for worship. Chris Oelkers, the director of music will be happy to take your inquiries about singing in the Compline Choir. The choir will consist entirely of men who have a desire to learn chant. If there is sufficient interest we will also form a choir of women for the same purpose. For further information please contact Fr. Larry or Chris Oelkers at the Church Office.
