Sacraments of Healing

Reconciliation

Reconciliation (Penance or Confession) is the sacrament by which our sins are absolved by the action of the priest when we humbly and honestly confess our sins. Through Reconciliation, the penitent recovers grace, reconciliation with the Church, peace and serenity of conscience, spiritual consolation, remission of sins and spiritual strength to resist further sin. Preparation for First Confession is typically offered to second graders, preparing for First Eucharist, as well as to old children and adults preparing for Sacraments of Initiation. Call the Lifelong Christian Formation Office for more information at 512.454.0384 ext. 222 or 225.

"Personal confession is thus the form most expressive of reconciliation with God and with the Church."

St. Louis King of France Catholic Church offers weekly opportunities for confession each Saturday from 9:00am - 10:30am and 6:00pm - 7:00pm, as well as Penance services during Advent and Lent.

Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament used to be called Extreme Unction or the sacrament of the dying. Now it is an anointing and blessing which offers the grace to overcome frailties and the strength, peace and courage to overcome the difficulties of serious illnesses. Ideally Anointing of the Sick should be requested early in an illness so that the sick person may take a full, conscious role in the celebration of this sacrament. If you or a loved one would benefit from this sacrament, please call the Church Office 512.454.0384.

Periodically throughout the year, Healing Services may also be offered for the benefit of the parish community and those suffering from chronic physical, mental or emotional illnesses.
